PEACE BEAR in the NETHERLANDS
PEACE BEAR visited Erik and Kim in the Netherlands Here's Kim's Comments...
Here is Peacebear sitting between the Sinterklaas presents I bought for my family, Sinterklaas is actually the same like Santa Clause, but Sinterklaas is coming on 5-th december and he doesn't bring a raindeer with him but "zwarte pieten" (funny black guys. So can see them on google).
Here is peace bear visiting the central station from Leeuwarden. Leeuwarden is the capital ciry from the provence Friesland (in the north of the country) But there are just 4 different routes for trains. 1 to Harlingen, 1 to Groningen 1 tot zwolle and 1 to Sneek. That's not much for the central station of a capital city isn't it?
Here is peace bear sitting in front of the biggest towers from Leeuwarden. It's calles "Achmea toren" (toren = tower) it's a business centre. A few times a year you can go to the top to see Leeuwarden from above. I never did it but will sometimes...
This is the most popular building from Leeuwarden. it's called "de oldehove"
Somewhere around 1600 the people from Leeuwarden would like to have a huge church. They started to build but the ground/earth was to weak, so the tower dissapears in the ground to the left side. The tried to build on the right side to make that part heavier so the tower will be right but that didn't happend... So the decided to stop building. So this is all it is now. It had to be a church but is is't. You can go inside, climb to the top and see a part of Leeuwarden. It's nice to do!
